Woman Gives Birth To 10lb Baby In Car | i8thacookies
An amazing video of a Texas woman giving birth in the passenger seat of the family car is burning up the Internet.
Probably because the baby boy popped out in four minutes flat.
As of Saturday, the video posted on YouTube had been viewed more than 1.9 million times.
Lesia Pettijohn and her husband, Jon, were on their way to the Bay Area Birthing Center in Pasadena, when her water broke about 10 minutes from the facility.
Jon, who was driving, had positioned his GoPro camera on his leg, sensing they may not make it the hospital in time.
He was right.
Less than a minute later, Lesia could feel the baby’s head emerging. She was screaming in pain. “It’s coming out! It’s coming out!”
Jon, meanwhile, was perfectly calm. He undid her seat belt, and matter-of-factly asked if she wanted to remove her pants. By that time, the baby was halfway out.
“I was just thinking, ‘Well, I have to push him out, he can’t stay halfway,” the mom told The Facts.
Jon asked his wife if she wanted him to pull over. She told him to keep going.
As she fussed that the baby needed suctioned, to clear his lungs, Jon pointed out that the baby was squalling his little head off. So he was breathing just fine.
They named the boy, who weighed in at 10 pounds, Josiah. He is the couple’s third child and their first son.
Less than a week after the birth, both mother and baby are doing fine.
